Catering outlets such as restaurants, takeaways and canteens where food is prepared are being encouraged to avoid disposing of fats, oils and grease (FOG) or any food down sinks or drains.
Anglian Water is committed to help set up a regular, free, certified waste fats, oils and grease (FOG) collection service to commercial kitchens. Waste oil collected can be processed into EN950 standard Biodiesel fuel.
The free FOG disposal service helps limit the damage caused by fats, oils and grease in sewers and reduces our carbon footprint. The Biodiesel Partnership is supported by Anglian Water and the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health (CIEH).
Leaflets have been produced to give information about our catering oil waste collection schemes and to provide advice to catering students.
A new charter and mission statement from Anglian Water has been launched to help prevent pollution caused by fats, oils and grease (FOG) in sewers. It was launched with the backing of the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health (CIEH), the Environment Agency and Water UK.
