Industrial Tariff

If you use or expect to use more than 10,000 cubic metres (10,000,000 litres) of water a year, you will be charged on one of the Industrial tariffs. Our standard tariffs are based on potable water supply. It may be possible to choose a non-potable supply should this be suitable, although there is limited availability of non-potable water. If you use more than 50,000 cubic metres of water a year and meet the necessary criteria, you may opt for the Industrial Interruptible or Industrial Plus tariff.

From 1 April 2011, customers using more than 10,000 cubic metres of water a year will be charged on the Industrial 10 tariff. For help calculating your MDD and estimating your annual water charges under the Industrial 10 tariff, use the MDD Calculator.

Industrial 10

If your site uses between 10,000- 24,999 cubic metres of water a year, you will be charged on the Industrial 10 or Industrial 10 Non-potable tariff.

A reduced fixed charge is available for properties not connected to the public sewer for surface water drainage. The charge for 2011/12 is £3,533.00

Trade Effluent - the Mogden formula

Trade effluent charges are calculated in line with the Ofwat-approved Mogden formula, set out below, which is used by all sewerage companies.

C = R + VB + Ot/Os(B) + St/Ss(S)

Ot - chemical oxygen demand (COD) (in mg/l) of the trade effluent after one-hour quiescent settlement

Os - the mean strength of settled sewage at Anglian Water's Sewage Treatment Works, as determined by COD (464mg/l)

St - total suspended soils (in mg/l) of the trade effluent

Ss - the mean suspended solids content of the sewage at Anglian Water's Sewage Treatment Works (425mg/l)
