Our Graduate Development Programme is designed to develop future senior managers who can perform to a high standard in different areas of our business. We think the retention rate of our graduates speaks best about the quality of our Programme: more than 70 per cent of the participants in the 2000 and 2001 Programmes are still working at Anglian Water today.
The Programme lasts for two years and consists of:
- an induction period designed to give an overview of the company, including our structure and strategy
- a series of placements in each of our operational divisions. These will assign real responsibilities at an early stage and are designed to be flexible to permit taking maximum advantage of opportunities as they rise. By the end of the Programme, you will have spent an equal amount of time in each division.
- additional learning to understand the business support areas such as Finance, HR, Legal and Regulation
We recognise the importance of coaching and mentoring throughout the training process. Throughout your time on the Programme, you'll be supported by:
- a senior manager mentor to support you in your personal and professional development
- an established network of past and current graduate trainees to share experiences with and to help you settle in to the company more quickly
- a Graduate Programme Manager who will arrange your placements and support your learning
In terms of tangible benefits, we offer a starting salary of approximately £22,500 p.a., which is reviewed every six months while you are on the Programme; a £5,000 interest-free loan; a laptop and/or mobile if required for your role; 26 days holiday per year; and up to £2,500 in relocation expenses. You will also be eligible for our contributory pension and personal accident benefit schemes and private healthcare.
