Our Reward Package

Coin in water

At Anglian Water, we believe that high-quality staff deserve high-quality benefits. We also believe there is more to a reward package than just salary and bonus. Consequently, we offer our employees a wide range of competitive benefits that go far beyond a basic package.

Pension

All employees are eligible to join our pension scheme after two months’ service. This defined contribution scheme, to which both you and Anglian Water make payments, provides an income in retirement along with a range of additional benefits, including life assurance, a pension for a surviving spouse, and benefits if you become too ill to work. Anglian Water also covers you for personal accident insurance over and above the benefits from the pension scheme.

Private healthcare

Because we value our employees’ well-being, all staff are entitled to join our private healthcare scheme which offers coverage for a range of treatments and includes an outpatient allowance.

Associate partners programme

Employees and their immediate families are eligible for specially discounted prices on vehicles from Vauxhall, Daewoo and Saab.

Employee assistance programme

Anglian Water operates a free and confidential helpline to provide counseling on a wide range of welfare issues, with the goal of reducing employee stress and improving morale. The service is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, so you can always get expert help when you need it.

Childcare vouchers

Under this tax-effective scheme, employees can save more than £800 per year by purchasing vouchers towards childcare costs from their gross salary. The vouchers can be used to pay for most types of childcare, including nurseries, child-minders, before and after-school clubs and holiday schemes.

Flexible working

Our flexible working arrangements – which include job sharing, flexible hours, and occasional or regular home-working – are particularly helpful to employees with long-term caring responsibilities. These arrangements can be temporary or permanent. New mothers returning from maternity leave are automatically permitted to work part-time for up to 13 weeks.

Parental leave

We offer unpaid parental leave periods of up to 13 weeks for each child under five (more time is available to parents of disabled children), along with short-term time-off periods to deal with family emergencies.

Sabbaticals

Employees with more than three years’ service are eligible for sabbaticals, periods of unpaid leave in which to study, travel, or pursue other interests for up to six months, with the option of returning to an identical or similar position. Employees may also take longer career breaks of between one and three years, where employment is suspended but not terminated. On your return, every effort will be made to put you into a role comparable to the one you left.

Long-Service award

In recognition of the contribution made by long-serving employees, Anglian Water offers both vouchers and additional leave on completion of various service milestones. The scheme has recently been enhanced to reward staff who have been with the company upwards of 15 years.

Social club

Our social club is open to all employees from across the region. Members (no subscription fee) enjoy a range of subsidised social events throughout the year.

Community service

Through our 'give me five' volunteering program, employees are able to donate their skills and time to community organisations, time the company will match up to 30 hours per year.

Working for Anglian Water is not just about the day job as there are many things you can become involved in, weather it’s the social events, a community project, or just taking advantage of the special offers such as theatre bookings, or my personal favourite the discounted online shopping!
