Challenges and responsibility
We are committed to developing our graduates to be Anglian Water's future operational managers and senior managers. To this end, you will be challenged from day one and given real responsibility at an early stage. The possibilities open to graduate trainees are illustrated by Peter Simpson, our Chief Operating Officer who himself joined the programme in 1989 and recalls "first and foremost, the programme gave a thorough understanding of the company. I worked in a lot of different areas and consequently I learned a tremendous amount about how people work in different jobs and how things appear in different parts of the business."
What we're looking for
Our graduate trainees come from a wide variety of backgrounds. What's more important is your ability to demonstrate the significant skills and experiences you have that complement your academic achievements. Graduate trainees are recruited using our Skills and Behaviours framework, which includes criteria such as understanding our business context, effective communication, teamwork, and the ability to make informed decisions. This means that we can be confident from day one that you have the ability to contribute to the success of our business.
Training
As well as relevant on-the-job training and development, you will participate in a series of learning sets and business presentations designed to enhance your management skills.
