Drop 20 for schools

Water… our most precious natural resource. Let’s not take it for granted!

The East of England is the UK’s driest region. Less rain falls here than in parts of Spain, parts of Africa and the Middle East.

With demand for water rising and the uncertain effects of climate change, teaching children about the importance of using water wisely has never been more important.

Our ‘Drop 20’ campaign urges everyone to reduce their daily water usage by 20 litres each - it really isn’t that difficult but it makes a huge difference when you add it all up.

The 'Drop 20’ for schools resources extend the campaign to children and young people. They also widen the learning to include:

  • An exploration of what a drought actually is.
  • Why droughts happen.
  • The long-term environmental impact of using more water than we need to.
