The Greater Peterborough University Technical College

World Record Attempt at GPUTC

The Greater Peterborough University Technical College (GPUTC) which opened its doors to the first in take of students in September 2016, offers 14 - 19 year olds both technical and academic qualifications, specialising in Engineering and the Built Environment.

The GPUTC’s state-of-the-art building provides a fantastic learning environment, with the best facilities for young people who want technical qualifications and to gain traditional GCSEs and A-Levels, making it the education choice for all budding engineers, builders, designers and architects.

For us, sponsoring the GPUTC is about more than just being a financial supporter or a name above the door. The company needs high-calibre students with the right skills, experience and mind-set to meet its future recruitment needs.

Around a third of Anglian Water’s workforce will retire in the next decade and we want the best and brightest engineers and technicians from this area to leave school with the right skills and experience to join our business. As a result, we will be guaranteeing job interviews to all GPUTC students who successfully complete their studies.

The GPUTC will accept student admissions from the Greater Peterborough catchment area, including Bourne, Chatteris, Manea, March, Huntingdon, Ramsey, Rutland, Sawtry, Spalding, Stamford, Whittlesey,  Wisbech and more.

Other employer sponsors for the GPUTC include:

  • Larkfleet Group and
  • Marshalls Aerospace.
The academic sponsors are:

  • Peterborough Regional College and
  • Anglia Ruskin University.
The combined support of these institutions will provide employer projects, work experience and learning.
