New water mains

For connection to an existing main please complete an application for a new or replacement water connnection

Developer Services provides an expert service for the design and construction of water mains to service your development. Our teams are located in Lincoln, Norwich and Milton Keynes offering local knowledge of the area you are working in. Whether you are requesting that Anglian Water complete the work or you choose the self lay route, the teams will be happy to assist you with your development.

Ferrule connections

A boundary box ferrule connection is where the Developer purchases the boundary box and installs it within the curtilage of the property at the same time as they lay the service pipe to the boundary.

Water regulations information

It is imperative when requesting new water mains and water connections that ALL drawings and information requested in Section 5 of the 'Application for new water supplies (mains and connections)' are submitted to us with the application form. Failure to do so will delay your application being processed.

Trickle flow plugs

Important Note – All new boundary box, manifold and wall box connections will be installed with a trickle flow plug at the time of connection. The trickle flow plug will give adequate flow and pressure for the testing of the internal plumbing system, but will not be adequate to supply an occupied property.

The water meter will be installed at the same time as the internal water regulations inspection takes place to ensure compliance with the Water Supply (Water Fittings) Regulations 1999. Therefore it is important that the property is fully plumbed when requesting the meter installation.

When you are ready for the internal water regulations inspection and meter installation, please contact us on 0800 137631 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday, quoting the Anglian Water job numbers. Please allow five working days for the meter to be installed from the date requested.

At the time of the meter fit Anglian Water will also record an accurate meter location as well as confirming the postal address, occupancy date and occupier if known, which will ensure accurate billing of our new customers.

It is a criminal offence for Developers or their contractors to tamper with the trickle flow plug in any way

Water efficiency advice for developers, facilities managers and landlords

Waterwise East aims to improve water efficiency across the East of England through working with developers, planners and other water stakeholders. Anglian Water has been working with them in developing planning guidance and a design guide for developers, facilities managers and landlords to assist in improving the water efficiency of new builds and existing properties. Practical information such as how to achieve relevant code standards, relevant regulation, cost analysis and case-studies can be found on their new website www.water-efficient-buildings.org.uk.
