Whilst Anglian Water will vet and assess an application, the Developer is responsible for employing a contractor to carry out the connection works. If the sewer connection is to be made directly to the public sewer, the contractor that is selected to carry out the works must meet certain requirements.
We have provided a list of sewerage contractors that have demonstrated to us their compliance with these requirements. You remain at liberty to employ a contractor who is not included on the list, however they will need to provide the following information for our approval before work commences:
- A copy of their current health and safety policy.
- A copy of their current public liability insurance policy, the value of which must be a minimum of £5 million.
- A statement in respect of quality assurance standards for the company's work.
- Details of previous sewer connection works, including types of connections, depths, methods used and dates.
- Evidence of approval to work on the Highway.
- Trained personnel must be able to demonstrate they have obtained the City & Guilds 6150 Unit. Contractors must be trained and assessed under the City & Guilds 6150 scheme at an accredited training centre. (The City & Guilds Utilities Operations Scheme Existing Unit 5831 qualification remains acceptable until May 2012).
