Keep it Clear

Plugholes and toilet bowls are designed for used-water not waste. If we put things like fat, oil and grease (FOG) down our sinks, and sanitary waste and wipes (known as ‘unflushables’) down the loo, it can cause sewer pipes and pumps to block leading to sewer flooding in homes and gardens and sewage spills into local rivers and waterways.

There are 30,000 sewer blockages in the Anglian Water region; most of them are avoidable and caused by FOG and unflushables. 70% of sewer flooding and sewage pollution incidents in the Anglian Water region are as a result of a sewer blockage.

Adopt the Keep it Clear habit, spread the word and help us to protect our rivers and waterways.
