We monitor and check water at every stage of its journey from its source to your tap.
We do this in two ways. Firstly we monitor critical water treatment processes 24 hours a day, every day of the year. In addition we carry out hundreds of thousands of tests on tap water from when it leaves our treatment works through to its arrival at your tap. Samples are taken to our purpose-built laboratories in Huntingdon and Lincoln, where our world class team of scientists analyse them using cutting edge, forensic technologies.
A key part of this monitoring process involves the co-operation of around 12,000 customers every year, who kindly allow us to take samples of tap water directly from their homes or business. Our samplers always wear a uniform and carry identification which helps us to beat bogus callers.
