It is 30 years since Benson & Hedges first held this prestigious International six-man team event and together with our sponsors Airflo we have come up with some new ideas to run alongside the usual competition to celebrate this.
The event is for teams of six anglers with a prize and hospitality fund throughout the competition of at least £35,000. We look forward to welcoming teams old and new at the heats to be held throughout the spring and summer at ten top fisheries throughout the UK.
As usual
- Qualifying rounds and regional finals.
- Entry fee capped at £120 per team with a 25% discount for a second team.
- £1 donated to WaterAid for every competitor who enters.
- Fifteen percent of top anglers including best fish from each heat will be invited to an Individual Final at Grafham Water in May 2013.
- Prestigious two day International Final at Rutland Water on 2 & 3 October culminating in the presentation of the silver salver first presented in 1982, the WaterAid trophy (for the biggest fish) and the Overseas Trophy (best placed overseas team) at the dinner on the final day.
To celebrate (this year only)
- A two-day Wildcard final at Grafham Water on 18 & 19 September where 17 teams who have not qualified for a regional final will be drawn and invited to take part.
- Prize for the heaviest fish caught by an angler who has fished the competition for 20 years or more.
