       There are some good sized Rainbows coming out of Ravensthorpe with a 10lb specimen returned safely to the water on Sunday 19 March plus two 5lb Rainbows this week.

      Rutland Water week ending 26 March

      It’s been an excellent week at Rutland Water with an overall rod average of 5.84 and reports of some big fish. Anglers fishing on Saturday 1 April are in with the chance of winning the Independence Day Trophy and a  prize for the heaviest fish (Rainbow or Brown) caught on the day.

      Pitsford Water week ending 26 March

      Notable catches at Pitsford this week included Mr M Seaman who reported catching a Brown of 8lb and Rob Layton who had a good couple of sessions from the bank, catching 19 fish. David Brady and his boat partner John Archer had a cracking day on Tuesday, boating 78 fish on buzzer tactics in the Stone Barn area.

      Grafham Water week ending 26 March

      It’s been spectacular at Grafham water this week, wonderful weather and a buzzer bonanza has produced a rod average of 13.4! The majority of sport is just out of reach of the bank anglers, though boat anglers are producing high numbers.

      Pitsford Water week ending 19 March

      Fish 596 Returns 63 Rod average 9.4

      Pitsford has been on fire with the more settled, milder conditions contributing to a fantastic rod average of 9.4. Boat anglers have been rewarded with huge catches and bank anglers have also been taking fish.

      Ravensthorpe Reservoir week ending 19 March

      Anglers have enjoyed another great week’s fishing at Ravensthorpe with a rod average of 8.3 for the week. The best Rainbow of the week was caught by Mark Draper who landed a fine specimen of 8lb 8oz. Mark took 70 fish to the boat.

      Grafham Water week ending 19 March

      It’s been another great week at Grafham. Although conditions faced have been tough at times we still see a cracking rod average of 6.1!

      Rutland Water week ending 19 March

      Rutland continues its good form. Season ticket holder Ron Oldroyd of Empingham described last Wednesday as his “best ever day on Rutland”. Amongst Ron’s 25 fish was the best Rainbow of the week at 5lb. Ron boat fished the south arm, setting up for his big fish using minkies. His bag included 18 overwintered fish and a couple of Browns (safely returned) for over 5lb. Ron also netted a 20lb Pike – so a memorable day all round.

      Rutland Water week ending 12 March

      Anglers have enjoyed an excellent start to the new season at Rutland with the first sixty returns giving an impressive rod average of 8.06. 484 fish were recorded, of which 332 were returned.
