Every angler’s worst nightmare is kit going overboard, but for Dave Kennell there was a very happy outcome.

Fish 387 (season 9,457) Returns 103(2,068) Rod average 3.7 (4.6)
Anglers are continuing to enjoy excellent sport at Pitsford Water with a rod average of 3.7 for the week and some quality fish coming to the net. The best Brown of the week went 5lb plus and there were several Rainbows over 4lb with the best of the week weighing 4lb 12oz.

Every angler’s worst nightmare is kit going overboard, but for Dave Kennell there was a very happy outcome. Dave says “Thank you to all Pitsford staff for their help in trying to retrieve my rod, reel and line which I lost in the small half approach to the under road bridge on Thursday 31st August.
It was a massive shock to lose it, but an even bigger shock to have it back within a week.
I have to thank Rick Varley and Danny Peet (who hooked the rod whilst pike fishing) for their kindness and honesty in returning the kit to the lodge.” We are all delighted that Dave has been reunited with his gear and look forward to seeing him again soon.

The best methods this week are either fishing diawl bachs and nymphs on floater or midge tip lines or pulling small blobs or boobies or wet flies on intermediate lines. Plenty of fish are showing through the narrows, Rigbys and off the Pines.
