Anglers are enjoying some of the best fishing of the season with the best Rainbow of the week weighing 7lb and a rod average of 4.4. The week was rounded off with an excellent Fur & Feather match.

Pitsford Water is producing some of the best fish of the year at the moment – both Rainbows and Browns. Although the Browns are out of season and must be returned safely to the water, they can still be caught and are in stunning condition. The rod average for the week is 4.5. Notable catches include Mark Benstead who bank fished on Sailing Club Bank and had Rainbows of 7lb and 4lb.

Pitsford Fur & Feather 12 November
On Sunday the water hosted the annual Fur and Feather boat pairs match. Fished to a 10 fish limit per boat the 36 anglers caught a very impressive 156 fish for a rod average of 4.3. Anglers commented on the excellent condition of the fish and how well they fought.

Winners for the second consecutive year were Rob Edmunds and Gary Geoghan with 10 fish for 28lb 7oz. Local anglers Terry Bayes and Pete Webb were a very creditable second with 10 fish for 27lb. Third place went to Gary Morris and John Stevenson with 10 fish for 26lb 1oz. The prize for best fish of the match was won by Mark Haycock who took a lovely 4lb 7oz Rainbow. The anglers enjoyed a delicious, hearty post match meal of stew and dumplings.
