The fishing has improved dramatically at Pitsford with fish on the feed in the cooler conditions. This week’s rod average is 5.6 with many great conditioned fish in the 4-5lb bracket being caught.

Fish 493 (season 8,217) Returns 88(1,773) Rod average 5.6 (4.6)

Season ticket holders Chris Butcher of Brixworth and Bob Collins from Kingsthorpe have both enjoyed continued success fishing fro the bank, each catching and releasing over 20 fish in their sessions. Bob included 2 fish between 4-5lb and four between 3-4lb.

Kieron Barnes from Rugby reported a Brown of 5lb successfully returned whilst Mark Hawtin had fish of 4lb 2oz and 3lb 8oz in his limit bag, catching on an orange cruncher.

The Gravels and Sermons continue to fish well from the bank, shrimp patterns or dries are catching good quality fish around the weed beds.
Fish are well spread out across the lake for the boat anglers with good numbers of fish being taken from the main basin, narrows, cliffs and causeway. The best methods are dries, or mixtures of booby, FAB fished ‘washing line’ style with nymphs or hoppers on the droppers. The key is to keep the flies high in the water on midge tip or slow intermediate lines.

Spinning for trout has proved popular this week and there have been several bag limits taken to this method.
