Healthy rod average and good sized fish at Pitsford Water.

The rod average for Pitsford is a healthy 4.2 even though the fishing has got harder in the hot, bright conditions. The best fish of the week was a 5lb 8oz Rainbow taken by Mr N Cooper of Dunstable.

Fish are still in the top couple of feet and washing line tactics with booby/FAB and nymphs is the best method. The best areas remain the Gravel Bank, Cliffs from the bank. Boat anglers have caught in the Narrows, Cliffs, Pines and in the Main Basin. Spinning for trout at Pitsford is permitted until 31 August and this method has been successful for most with fish being caught from around the bubbles.

With another stocking of 1,500 fish this week the total number of fish stocked so far this season at Pitsford stands at 27,500.
