It’s been a wonderful week with Pitsford hosting the England Ladies National Final and anglers across the board enjoying some cracking sport. Fish are showing all across the Narrows and Bowl. The rod average for the week is 4.5 with plenty of fish in the 3-4lb bracket being caught.

Jim McGonigle had three successful boat sessions, taking 18 fish with the best at 3lb 8oz. Malcolm Foreman took ten fish to the boat and his best fish was a lovely Brown of 4lb 12oz, which was safely returned. The best methods are floating or intermediate lines with boobies and FAB’s on the point and diawl bachs and crunchers on droppers.

Meanwhile over at Rutland Water Anglian Water’s Mark Mathieson, a familiar face at Pitsford Lodge, was fishing in the English Fly Fishing National. Mark put in a terrific performance and was amongst the top 28 anglers who have all qualified to represent England next year
