Part of the A52, Barrowby Road, will be closed on Tuesday 28th and Wednesday 29th October for urgent repairs to a water main.

Anglian Water will be carrying out the repairs to fix a leak, reducing the risk of the problem becoming worse and affecting supplies to customers in future.

Antony Innes, from Anglian Water, said: “We know this work will cause disruption to customers and commuters in the area, and we’re really sorry for that.

“We’ve been aware of the leak for several weeks and have tried to carry out repairs without fully closing the road. Unfortunately, the location of the leak means we cannot do this with two way traffic lights alone and we need to close both lanes. However, we’d like to reassure customers that we’ll be doing all we can to finish this repair as quickly as possible to keep disruption to a minimum.

“We will always look to avoid closing such a busy road, but we need to repair the main now, before the problem worsens and affects customers’ supplies.”

The road will be closed between the Barrowby Gate roundabout and the junction with the A1. Traffic will need to be diverted around Grantham along Harlaxton Road and the A1 back to the A52.
