Fishtoft Road, Boston will be open from Wednesday, December 23 after Anglian Water completed essential sewer repairs two weeks early.

The road has been closed since Monday, November 30 between Kingsway and Church Road and between St Nicholas Close and Charles Street. The work was expected to take 6 weeks to complete, but Anglian Water teams have been working extended hours wherever possible and have completed the repair ahead of schedule.

Sarah Dobson, from Anglian Water, said: “To allow the work to be completed as quickly and safely as possible we needed to close two sections of Fishtoft Road.

“Work on this challenging repair has been progressing well and we are pleased the road will be reopened from Wednesday 23rd December. We have worked extended hours to minimise the disruption for local residents and businesses and have been able to reopen the road ahead of Christmas.

“We would like to thank local residents and commuters for their patience and understanding whilst we have completed this essential work.”

Final work to complete the repair will be on-going after the road is reopened but it will not impact on the carriageway.
