Careers event

An engineering jobs fair and networking event with global employers is taking place in Peterborough next month (17 February), hosted by Anglian Water and its engineering partners, @one Alliance.

Professionals of all levels and backgrounds are encouraged to come along and find out more, as are apprentices and those looking for their first step on the career ladder.

The recruitment event is taking place at the Greater Peterborough University Technical College, Park Crescent, Peterborough, PE1 4DZ on Wednesday 17 February from 3pm to 8pm.

Anglian Water, Balfour Beatty, Barhale, Grontmij, MWH, Mott MacDonald Bentley and Skanska, who make up the Anglian Water @one Alliance, will be there with jobs on offer.

The companies will give jobseekers an insight into the fantastic career opportunities within the organisation, and showcase some of the engineering industry’s most innovative and forward thinking projects that have been delivered for Anglian Water.

Dale Evans, director of the @one Alliance, said: “Whether you’re an experienced engineer or are looking for your first job and just know problem solving through engineering is for you, come along and have a chat with us. It’s a great opportunity to find out about the engineering challenges facing the water industry, the technology we use to tackle these problems and the collaborative workforce that make it happen.

“The UK needs 2.1 million more engineers by the end of the decade to meet the level of engineering projects the country has to deliver. The opportunities are endless and with global companies looking for talent, the world really is your oyster.

“There will be a number of immediate vacancies on offer at the event, but we’re also looking at taking people on in the future too – so college or university leavers are also welcome – and this is a reason we’ve been sure to hold the event during the half term.”
