Work by Anglian Water is due to start on Wednesday 6th June 2012 to connect a new property to the existing water main under the junction of Broadway and London Road, in Yaxley.

Following discussions with the council it has been agreed that work will take place during the night to keep disruption at this busy junction to a minimum. Engineers will be working to connect a new development adjacent to 268 The Broadway between 18:30 on 6th June and 06:30 on 7th June.

Advanced warning letters have already been delivered to customers who may be affected by the works, in particular by noise levels during the night. The road will not be closed while the work takes place but temporary traffic lights will be in place.

Antony Innes, from Anglian Water, said: “Whenever a new property is built we have a duty to make sure they are supplied with water and connected to the public sewer system.

“We recognise this is a busy junction and some disruption will be inevitable, which is why we have written to customers in the local area letting them know what is happening, when and why.”

Anglian Water is working closely with the county council’s Highways Department to make sure disruption is kept to a minimum.

Antony continued: “We anticipate this scheme will be completed overnight so things will be back to normal the following morning. We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause for residents and motorists and would like to assure customers we will be working hard to reduce the impact of these works.”
