Transforming lives in Uganda

Friday, January 23, 2015

Late last year Anglian Water fundraiser, Nicole Synan, travelled to Uganda where she witnessed first hand how WaterAid is transforming lives in one of the country’s poorest regions.

Nicole spent a week in Uganda as part of a group of volunteers from other water companies learning how the vital safe water, hygiene education and sanitation projects the international charity carries out are transforming lives.

You can watch a video from Nicole’s trip here:

The group visited communities to find out what life is like without safe water and sanitation and see WaterAid projects in both urban areas and rural villages to witness how the money raised in this country is making a life-changing difference.

Nicole spent time with local communities, experiencing first-hand what living without clean water and sanitation is like, trying to understand how they survive, and asking them about their daily water and sanitation challenges.
