Roadworks will start in Donington on Monday (February 1st) to lay 750 metres of new water pipe.

The work on High Street, Quadring Road and Mill Lane is needed to connect the new Maltings Lane housing development to the mains water supply. The engineers will be on site from Monday to start the first phase which will take 12 weeks.

There will be temporary traffic lights in place along the High Street and Quadring Road for 8 weeks from Monday to allow the new pipe to be laid safely. Mill Lane will also need to be closed from Monday, March 28 to Friday, April 22 for the same reason.

Sarah Dobson, Anglian Water spokesperson, said: “This project is needed to bring water supplies to the new homes in Maltings View. We are required to extend our network to allow new homes to be connected to the mains water and sewerage services.

“We appreciate that the work will cause some disruption to local residents, and we apologise for that. Diversion signs will be in place and we will be working extended hours wherever possible - including some weekend work - to complete the work as quickly as possible.”
