Taverham Mill
Our 100-acre site boasts some spectacular views making us one of the most picturesque Norfolk nature reserves. With four lakes and situated by an old weir and mill pool on the River Wensum, Taverham is a haven for anglers, walkers and nature lovers.
An anglers’ paradise, in our lakes you can fish for carp, tench, roach, perch and pike as well as stock up on tackle at our on-site store.
Those on a family day out can take one of the trails and explore the abundance of wildlife that make Taverham Mill its home.

Opening Hours
1st March - 31st October (the visitor centre is open daily): 10am - 5pm
1st November - 28th February: Wed - Sun: 10am - 3pm (Closed Monday & Tuesdays - Members Access Only)

Open until 1pm on Christmas Eve. Visitor centre closed on Christmas Day (the site will be open). Visitor centre open 09.30 to 16:00 on 31 December and 1 January.
Where to Eat
Our visitor centre has plenty of refreshments including tea, coffee and hot chocolate as well as a choice of chilled drinks. Also available is confectionary and ice creams.
Within the nature reserve you are also welcome to bring along a picnic and make the most of the charming setting.

Admission Price
Taverham Mill is an affordable day out with adult entry just £3.50, children 5-18 £1.50 and under 5's free.
Regular visitors may benefit from annual family membership which costs just £40 for a year’s entry. Parking is free of charge.

From accessible trails to toilets and baby changing, our facilities ensure the whole family can enjoy their time at Taverham Mill.
During school holidays you’ll find children’s activities on offer and our children’s play area is open year-round.
At our visitor centre you’ll find refreshments including hot and cold drinks as well as confectionary and ice creams.

Accessibility
Some areas of the site may not be suitable for wheelchair users unless accompanied, with most of the nature trail either low-level grass or boardwalk. There are disabled access toilets at the visitor centre.
