APLUS is an Anglian Water accredited scheme.

Members include plumbers/contractors who have shown they work to the legal, mandatory standards. Find out more from the information below.

How do I become an APLUS approved plumber?

You will need to email the following to: aplus@anglianwater.co.uk

Completed application form, which can be found here.
Copy of public liability insurance, minimum cover of £2 million required for sole traders and £5 million for companies
Provide proof of accepted Water Regulations qualification
Provide proof of accepted formal qualification in plumbing. Details of the accepted list can be found here.
A passport style photo of yourself for your identity card

Once your application has been assessed you will be sent details on how to pay the £180 joining fee.

Other requirements

All Approved Plumbers must have passed an NVQ level 2, 3 or craft certificate in plumbing and have an accompanying endorsed Water Regulations certificate. The full list of qualifications accepted can be found here.
If you are an experienced plumber without these qualifications you can take the BPEC Experienced Workers Qualification which will enable you to join the Watersafe register. Please note the Experienced Worker Qualification is no longer available to new learners and the last certification date is 31st August 2022.
If you are a business you will need to have at least one qualified individual who is recognised by WaterSafe for every 5 employees undertaking water supply installation work. WaterSafe approved businesses must commit to send only qualified and WaterSafe recognised individuals to respond to our work.
The plumber must live in the Anglian Water region to be eligable for APLUS membership.
Anglian Water holds no responsibility for the cost of any work carried out by an approved plumber/contractor

APLUS Members

Water Supply (Water Fittings) Regulations Certificates must be used on every occassion where an internal or external plumbing system has been installed.
