You can help make a difference...

putting rubbish into a sack at a beachcare event

There are lots of simple things we can all do to help improve the environment in which we live and to make sure the water supply is safe and secure.

From disposing of waste in the right way to saving water around the house. A few small changes can really make a big difference.

Take care of the drops… so the litres look after themselves.

At home, we each use an average of 133 litres of water a day. Some of this is wasted through inefficient appliances or dripping taps. We’re asking everyone to try to drop that amount by 20 litres a day – the equivalent of two full buckets. Just a few little steps around the home can save lots of litres.

Spot a leak

Help us identify water leaks across our region – big or small. If you spot a leak please tell us so we can fix it fast.
Call our 24/7 leakline number 0800 771 881 straight away.

Keep It Clear

Putting things like fats, oils and grease (FOG) down the sink or sanitary waste and wipes down the loo can block pipes and drains. Our Keep it clear campaign is a reminder to dispose of FOG and sanitary waste in the right place – helping us all to avoid potential sewage flooding in our homes and streets, costly repairs, pollution incidents and bad smells.

Join our RiverCare programme and get involved with helping with the cleaning up and improvement of your local river environment.
