Keep Britain Tidy is hosting the latest of its popular beach cleans in Great Yarmouth next Wednesday (24th July) at 10am.

The recent glorious sunshine had millions of Brits flocking to the coast last weekend, and with similar weather predicted for the coming weeks our seaside resorts will be looking for a bumper summer.

But more visitors to fantastic resorts like Great Yarmouth means there is likely to be more litter left behind. This is not only unsightly; it can damage the environment and wildlife that lives on the beach or in the dunes and coastal waters.

This Wednesday’s beach clean will help make sure the North Denes beach in Great Yarmouth is looking its pristine best.

Andrew Walters from Keep Britain Tidy, said: “We want to encourage as many people as possible to join in with the next clean in the BeachCare project.

“It’s a great way to get out in the nice weather and fresh air as well as doing something to benefit our local communities and help ensure the environment is allowed to flourish.

“Last month’s beach clean was a great success with 35 volunteers enjoying the sunshine and making a fantastic difference to the beautiful beach and dunes.”

The beach clean is part of the BeachCare project coordinated by Anglian Water and Keep Britain Tidy in conjunction with Great Yarmouth Borough Council.

If you’d like to get involved and volunteer, meet at 10am at Munchies Café on North Drive, opposite Salisbury Road, free tea and coffee will be supplied afterwards from Munchies Café.
