We are working hard to help customers affected by flooding. Pls follow @EnvAgency Flood Warnings & report surface water to lead local flood authorities. Bear with us, our lines may be busy, you can also report issues at https://t.co/Xh9vnuR5ak More at https://t.co/tGgqdBhpu8 https://t.co/8mcHqMwR89

More rain is forecast across our region over the next few days and we know further flooding is likely. We will continue to do all we can to help customers and keep our network running, but sewers are simply not designed to carry water from rivers that have burst or spilled over, or the volume of floodwater we’ve seen following such persistent rainfall. This is what is causing the flooding we are seeing, rather than a specific problem with our network. We would urge you to sign up to the Environment Agency’s Flood Warning service for the latest flood alerts in your area - https://flood-warning-information.service.gov.uk/warnings. Local councils should be contacted for problems with road drains, keeping gullies clear and issuing sandbags if they are needed. You should still contact us if you feel you have an emergency such as a loss of toilet facilities or blocked sewer. Our top priority is to help people whose homes have been flooded and we will deal with those issues first. We will help all customers as soon as we can but it may take us several days to reach everyone, please bear with us. Where sewers are inundated with surface water we encourage customers to contact their lead local flood authority (typically the County Council) as we are unlikely to be able to resume services until the levels recede. You can report issues by calling us, but please bear in mind our phonelines are extremely busy. You can also use our self serve online form – it’s quick and simple https://www.anglianwater.co.uk/help-and-advice/report-an-issue/. Alternatively, if your issue relates to flooded roads or gullies, please speak to your local council. If you have reported an issue to us and you find things do return to normal, it would be great if you could ring and tell us on 03457 145 145 or contact us via Facebook or Twitter so we can send our people to deal with other problems that still need attention. Thank you, and please stay safe.
