Those looking to get work or change careers are being invited to get help and discuss current vacancies at the Fenland Job and Skills Fair.

The event is being held on Wednesday 9th April at the Queen Mary Centre in Wisbech between 10am and 6pm. People can drop-in at any time.

Major employers, including The Army, Cambridgeshire Constabulary and Nestle Purina will be there with jobs on offer. Anglian Water’s Alliance partners Barhale, Grontmij, JN Bentley and Skanska are also attending with current vacancies to discuss with people.

Training providers, including Jobcentre Plus, the National Careers Service, Chamber of Commerce will be on hand to offer advice and support and deliver mock interviews to help people get the kick start for a new career.

Russell Beale, Business Connector for the Fenland area, said: “The job and skills fair is here to help those 1,400 people in this area who are either unemployed or looking for a change of career. It’s also a chance for employers to see what Fenland has to offer.

“We’d urge as many people to come along as possible, and for people in the Fenland area to spread the word amongst their family and friends.”

As well as advice and support, there will also be the chance to win a range or prizes, including an iPad.

The event is being supported by Anglian Water, Fenland District Council, Jobcentre Plus, Circle Housing, the Ferry Project and Cambridgeshire County Council.
