Several impressive Browns have been reported at Pitsford with fish estimated at up to 9lb caught and returned. Buzzers and diawls are still very effective and the fish appear to be more spread out across the lake. Good areas to try are the Pines, Holly Bush, Northfields shore, Stone Barn and Gorse.

Some of the notable catches this week included the Johnston Party of 14 anglers who enjoyed our three day boat package. The group caught 234 fish for an amazing rod average of 16.5.

Leicester Fly Fishers held a boat match on Sunday. This was won by Graham England and Dave Roadley, with the pair netting 16 fish for 40lb 2oz. Graham included a Brown of 4lb in his bag and returned another Brown estimated at between 8 and 9lb. His boat partner Dave had a Rainbow of 3lb 5oz. The best fish of the match was a lovely 4lb 3oz Rainbow caught by Richard Damon.
