Anglers enjoyed the best sport at Ravensthorpe towards the end of the week.

It’s been a mixed week at Ravensthorpe with improved results from Wednesday onwards. Alan Duffin took five fish from Platform 4 on blobs.
Frazer Duffy and Mick Clark brought 10 fish to their boat on Thursday and Dave Naylor and his boat partner fished on Friday, taking 13 fish on dries on the drift. Doug Whibley also took 8 fish on the buzzer. On Saturday Mark Benstead managed 13 fish in the morning on minkies by the Island and Hank Needham caught by the lodge.

Ravensthorpe hosted the Mick Griffin Fur and Feather on Sunday with anglers having a very enjoyable day’s fishing in pleasant conditions. The match fished well with 73 fish caught for a three fish average. Top spot went to Chris Young and Roger Kerrison with 8 fish for 18lb 12oz. Second place went to match organiser, Mick Griffin partnered with Derek Martin with a bag weight of 17lb 3oz. Mitch Brown and Martin Nelson were third weighing in for 16lb 14oz. Martin also took the biggest fish with a 4lb Rainbow.
