Make the switch to metered water charges

Now a water meter has been fitted, you can switch to metered charges – but the decision is entirely up to you.

It's easy to switch, 

By phone: Call us on 0800 0728 294

Online: Complete the online switching form here.

By text: Text METER, followed by your name and customer account number to 80010.

Need help in deciding whether to switch? Our metered charges information to give you an idea of how much you might pay if you decide to switch.

If this feels like a big decision, don’t worry, there’s our Switchback guarantee.

You can change your mind and move back to unmetered water in the next two years. So you really can’t lose.

The important thing is, when you have a meter you begin to be a bit more careful with the water you use. And if everyone makes this little change of behaviour, a lot of water will be saved.

What happens next

Once you’ve made the switch, we'll send you a final unmetered bill. You will receive your first metered bill within 6 months

If you pay by direct debit we'll adjust your payments automatically.
