Graham Buckley and Peter Issacs presenting Anglian Water staff with the bird and owl boxes

Boston residents Graham Buckley and Peter Issacs kindly donated a selection of bird and owl boxes to Anglian Water’s Boston Eastside pumping station, close to Graham’s home.

Graham and Peter presented the boxes to Customer Liaison Managers, Tiff Levick and Robbyn Guild and Process Optimiser, Marcus Hannay at the site on Monday, December 22. The bird and owl boxes were made by Peter and Graham who wanted to encourage the wildlife to the site.

Tiff Levick, Anglian Water’s Customer Liaison Manager said: “We are extremely grateful Graham and Peter took the time and effort to make these beautiful boxes.

“The site has many trees and bushes and it is a perfect place for wildlife. I am looking forward to putting up the boxes and getting some feathery visitors very soon.

“It is vitally important for us as a company that as well as protecting the water supplies of our region, we also protect the wildlife nearby. We feel that it’s part of our responsibility and when we have asked our customers, they agree.”

The boxes will be placed around the site over the winter and it is hoped a wide range of birds will make them their new homes, including Blue Tits, Tree Sparrows, Barn Owls, Tawny Owls and Kestrels.
