Workers are on site in Brentwood where a sewer collapse has led to the part closure of a road junction.

Anglian Water was called on Friday to the area and soon discovered the collapse at the junction with Doddinghurst Road and Ongar Road in Brentwood. Part of the road was cordoned off over the weekend to make it safe and four way traffic lights have been put in place.

Nik Shelton, from Anglian Water, said: “This is a six metre deep pipe and it is likely to be a complex job to repair. We will do everything we can to keep traffic moving however some disruption is inevitable and we would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused.

“We will ensure we keep in close contact with the local council highways team to look at all options for managing the traffic. And we will do our best to keep local residents updated as the work progresses.”
