Every day Anglian Water go to work to find new and better ways to look after your water.

The water mains replacement scheme in and around Wisbech St Mary will enhance the water supply to the community and help reduce leakage. We know that no one wants to lose their water pressure and that’s why you will see our teams working with the community over the coming weeks and months.

Work to replace and upgrade 3.2km of water main will begin on the 22nd July on Bevis Lane and Station Road and will improve water pressure to the community. The work will take around four months in total and start on Station Road, Wisbech St Mary. Innovative and low impact techniques will be used to minimise the disruption, however, to ensure the safety of our teams and the whole community there will be a rolling road closure.

We will be using directional drilling and pipe-bursting, meaning that we will be digging up the road less.

These techniques will also help to reduce construction time, so we can get things back to normal for the community as soon as we can.

In addition to the work happening in Wisbech St Mary, we will also be investing to replace an additional 7.6km of water mains in the surrounding area in the next year. This will improve the overall water network for the wider area and have little disruption for the community.
