Anglian Water launches their award-winning Graduate Leadership programme for 2022

Anglian Water is looking to recruit six Graduates to join the company from September 2022. The company’s Operational Leadership Scheme is an opportunity like no other, it is a bespoke two-year programme where successful applicants will have the opportunity to work alongside a huge variety of people, with a range of different skills.  

The programme gives an exclusive opportunity to work in all core business areas of Anglian Water where they will be supported by different placement managers across the East Anglian region. For the duration of each placement, candidates will learn brand new skills and knowledge to help them flourish in an operational management role (either on the Water or Water Recycling side of the business).

To apply for the Graduate scheme Anglian Water is looking for candidates with a natural passion and care when it comes working in the great outdoors and looking after customers. In addition, they are looking for:


 - A minimum of a 2:2 degree (any disciplines welcome – inspire and surprise us!)
 - A strong passion to make a difference whilst managing, motivating, and developing teams
 - A relentless desire to succeed
 - A zest for complex problem solving
 - Relish the excitement and opportunity to work outside of your comfort zone
 - Eager to take risks and continually explore new opportunities
 - Flexibility to travel and re-locate between placements  
 - A driving licence enabling you to drive legally in the UK

During the two-year paid placement, successful candidates will get the opportunity to:

 - Develop leadership experience to ensure water supplies are accessible whilst helping to embrace the obstacles the company face and transforming the business into the water company of the future
 - Spend time with field teams learning about the collection of used water and the water recycling treatment process
 - Gain on the ground experience with the clean water side of the business to help ensure that Anglian Water continue to deliver a reliable supply of safe, clean water to their customers
 - Identify and deliver optimisation programmes across the treated water distribution network
 - Learn and understand the maintenance of assets and driving efficiency across the business
 - Learn and understand the focus on health and safety which is at the heart of everything the water company does
 - Get involved in supporting and managing big incidents which can be caused by extreme and adverse weather conditions, making sure any impact on customers is controlled and minimised
