A little owl spotted at our water recycling centre at West Walton is giving us that Friday feeling. The owl has been seen hunting at the site a number of times by Andy from our Sludge Team who took this great photo. Although little owls are not endangered there has been a long-term decline in numbers so it's great to see them thriving at our site.
This week the 150th chick hatched at the Rutland Osprey Project! This is a fantastic milestone and great news for the breeding ospreys. Osprey chicks spend the first seven or eight weeks confined to the nest so will rely on fish brought to them by parents Maya and 33. We’re so pleased to support this incredibly successful programme and it’s great to see the hard work of @rutlandospreys and @leiceswildlife paying off 👏🏻🦅🥚 Don’t forget that you can watch the nest on the live webcam streamed from Rutland Water at www.ospreys.org.uk/webcam #RutlandWater #RutlandOspreys #Ospreys #BirdsofPrey #BritishBirdsofPrey #WildlifeTrust #BritishWildlife
