What is LITE and how can it help me?

Our low income tariff supports you if you’ve little disposable income and are struggling to pay your water bill.


We can help by applying a discount to your bill


Eligibility for this tariff is based upon an individual assessment of your financial circumstances. A discount will be awarded where your bill represents a large proportion of your disposable income.

Water Meters


To qualify applicants must have a water meter fitted at the property and be paying measured water based charges.


If you don’t already have a water meter, we’ll arrange for one to be fitted free of charge. We can also offer advice to help you save water and fit free water saving devices whilst we do this for you. A water meter gives you more control over your bill because you only pay for what you use.


However if you change your mind, you can switch back to unmetered charges at any time.



If you are accepted to the LITE tariff it is a requirement that you maintain your payments on the account. If you fail to do so, the tariff will be removed and you can’t reapply for another 12 months.


You’ll be able to pay your bill when it arrives or on an arrangement, which will ensure that you are paying enough to cover your consumption and contributing towards arrears in time for the next bill.


If those payments are too high for you, we will look at agreeing a temporary plan to cover your consumption. As we do share our information with Credit Reference Agencies this may affect your ability to obtain credit.
