Anglian Water is committed to meeting the highest standards of corporate governance and transparency.
The Anglian Water Services Limited Corporate Governance Code 2025 (the 2025 Code) came into effect on 1 April 2025 and replaced the Anglian Water Services Limited Corporate Governance Code 2020 (the 2020 Code).
The 2025 Code incorporates Ofwat’s 2019 Board Leadership, Transparency and Governance Principles (the BLTG Principles) and supporting provisions along with most of the provisions contained in the 2024 UK Corporate Governance Code. Only the parts of the UK Corporate Governance Code that cannot sensibly be applied to a company in private ownership, such as the provisions relating to shareholder meetings, have been omitted. Although compliance with the Wates Corporate Governance Principles (in addition to the BLTG Principles) would be sufficient, the Board was keen to adopt more stretching corporate governance requirements found in the 2024 UK Corporate Governance Code.
Details of compliance against the 2020 Code can be found in the 2025 Annual Integrated Report. Compliance against the 2025 Code will be reported for the first time in the 2026 Annual Integrated Report.
