Risk based catchment screening

Risk Based Catchment Screening, or "RBCS" is where all Level 3 Water Recycling Catchments are subjected to a series of high-level risk screening metrics to determine whether further investigation is required.

All ~1,100 of our catchments go through the RBCS process and if they trigger on any one metric the catchment progresses through the DWMP. Stakeholders have opportunity to comment on this list and bring in other catchments where required.

The map below identifies the outcome of the RBCS stage on each L3, and highlights which measures triggered their inclusion. To find a catchment you can either select it from the list on the left hand side, or you can use the search functionality using place name or postcode. Clicking on a catchment will produce the background information.

Please note that the information here is based on the screening exercise completed in 2019. Although we review this annually there have been no new additions to the catchments that would be included in the DWMP.

As a summary, across the Anglian Water region, 55% of our water recycling catchments progressed through the DWMP. These 55% cover 97% of our resident population. The risks to the catchments that did not progress through the DWMP will still be considered in a business as usual manner.
