All Approved Plumbers must have passed an NVQ level 2, 3 or craft certificate in plumbing and have an accompanying endorsed Water Regulations certificate. The full list of qualifications accepted is on the WaterSafe website here.
If you are an experienced plumber without these qualifications, you can take the BPEC Experienced Worker Qualification to join WaterSafe. Please note the Experienced Worker Qualification is no longer available to new learners and the last certification date is 31st August 2022.
If you are a business you must have at least one qualified individual who is recognised by WaterSafe for every five employees undertaking water supply installation work. WaterSafe approved businesses must commit to send only qualified and WaterSafe recognised individuals to respond to WaterSafe-generated work.
The plumber must live in the Anglian Water water region to be eligible for APLUS membership.
