If you have a second home/holiday home, you will be charged as normal and receive bills either quarterly, half yearly or once a year for the water used.

This means if the property is empty for any period of time, you will still be responsible for paying the domestic standing charges for being connected for services if on a meter.

If the property is rateable value it would be worth considering having a water meter fitted, to ensure you are not being charged a fixed yearly rate that is not reflective of any periods the property is empty.
