Surface water is rain or melted snow that drains from the roof of a property and from other areas such as concrete or asphalt driveways. Sometimes the surface water will drain into a soakaway in the garden
If you can show that the surface water from your property does not drain into the public sewerage system, then you can reduce your sewerage standing charge. You can read more about this on our Surface Water Drainage page.
Did you want to apply for a discount?
100% of the surface water must not return to our drains for you to be eligible for the discount.
If you aren't sure it's 100% or you know that all of it does not go into our drains please complete the online form to see if you are eligible for a discount.
