When a trade effluent consent is issued, there will be a specific start date from which you can discharge trade effluent. The consent will remain in effect until you formally apply to terminate it. It does not expire automatically.
In contrast, a temporary consent is only valid for a specified 6-month period. Discharge cannot be made prior to the start date or after the end date outlined within the temporary consent.
