Since 1 April 2015, SoLow hasn't been available to new applicants. It has now been phased out and customers on this tariff moved onto our standard tariff.

Why has SoLow been phased out?

We did not make this decision lightly and consulted the Consumer Council for Water throughout the process. We also discussed fairness and affordability with 50,000 customers and as a result, pledged to ensure our charges are fair for all. Under our Extra Care services we have a range of other tariff options to support our customers, alongside the continued roll out of Smart Meters so that it’s easier to understand how much you’re using and find opportunities to save water and money.

What is a standard rate tariff?

A standard rate tariff is the main domestic tariff used by the majority of customers. Find out more about our charges and tariffs, and what they mean for you.

What is a fixed charge?

A fixed charge for water is not affected by how much water you use. It covers the operating and customer service costs of providing the service to you. Now the SoLow tariff has been phased out, a fixed charge has now been added to your annual bill.

How much will my bill change by?

You can use our water usage calculator to assess and estimate your water use and how much your bill might be on standard tariff charges. Find out more about our metered charges for 2022/23 here.
