We’re building a 52-kilometre water pipeline between Elsham, North Lincolnshire, and Lincoln.
It is the most northernly section of our new drinking water network and will eventually join up with Elsham Water Treatment Works and the other planned pipelines to the south, forming the network that stretches from North Lincolnshire to Essex.
Update on works
As part of our updated programme, pipelaying will recommence from Elsham to Lincoln between spring and autumn 2025.
Our workforce will not be laying pipes in the winter months unless the ground conditions otherwise permit.
Supporting works
We are building a pumping station at Welton, as well as upgrading the Danesgate pumping station and Westgate water tower.
Our impact
We continue to minimise our impact on communities and the environment, and work with local communities to deliver a legacy along the route.
If you would like to contact us about the Elsham to Lincoln section of the project, please email strategicpipelines@anglianwater.co.uk.

This is where we’ll be laying down the pipe, building pumping stations and storage tanks and connecting everything together. |

Restoring the land |
After building and testing the strategic pipe we’ll restore the land. |
Late 2026 - Early 2027 |
Commissioning date |
We test water quality and pressure-test the pipeline with full quality assurance. Once complete, the pipeline is sampled and prepared for connection to the water network. |
