While we aim to reduce disruption to pedestrians and traffic as much as we can, our top priority will always be the safety of our staff and the public. This means we will need to close certain roads as we work, we have the following scheduled traffic management:

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Will residents be able to gain access?

Access for residents will be maintained throughout and where closures are in place, diversions for road users will be available. Please look out for the advance warning signs which will be in place prior to the roads closing.

Will the diversion route be marked?

We have attached a map detailing the diversion route. The diversion will also be clearly marked with temporary street signs so that vehicles can easily find their way around the road closure. Drivers are urged not to use satnav when following a diversion.

How are the diversion routes selected?

Diversion routes are carefully chosen with guidance and authorisation from the local Highways Department. They follow roads of a suitable standard and width to carry all motorway traffic and avoid restrictions to traffic flow.

Will public transport and/or school buses be affected?

Public transport providers will be notified of the road closure in advance. Please contact your local operator to discuss any changes to its service during this time.

Will there be pedestrian access?

Yes, we will ensure that footpath access is maintained throughout our road closures. Only in emergency circumstances, in order to prioritise health and safety would we have to temporarily close a footpath during our works

Will water supply be affected?

There will be no disruptions to water supply during our works.

Can we be compensated for this disruption?

We do not offer compensation for disruption caused by our road closure works.
